Mike's B-Day and Stuff

Mike turned the big 26 on Friday. We celebrated with a little party when got home from work. Abby decorated the cake, as always, and Owen ate it. They make a great team. Mike's big presents were an orbital sander and a toaster oven. He's already used the toaster oven like 5 times and says that it has changed the way he looks at left overs.

Owen was pretty ticked that we kept him up so late. Mike had to hold him for a half an hour, he said his arm went numb.

Happy Father's Day!

Abby made her Daddy a special cake. I think she used almost a whole jar of sprinkles. Beautiful!
She insisted on candles too.

The kids picked out some presents for Mike. Abby gave him a Woody and Buzz set, and Owen gave him some tonka trucks. Yay! Mike's real present was the new Mario Galaxy game for the Wii. Lots of fun, I even like to play it, and I never play video games.

Yummy breakfast - buttermilk pancakes with whip cream and jam. Nothing better!

Party at the Pool

I realized I haven't updated in a while and it's because I haven't been taking any pictures. So here we go!
We bought pool passes this summer. This is the first time we've really taken advantage of the pools since we moved to Texas. The kids have a blast so it's been nice going in the mornings then coming home and taking looong naps. Happy mama, Happy kids. Good times :)

Mike went to check on Abby and saw that she had put her "baby" to bed. Don't you like her make-shift crib? I thought it was funny that she crammed her doll in that tiny box :)

Check ups and a haircut

I took the kids to the doctor today for their 1 & 3 yr check ups. Here are the stats...
Abby:
weight - 33.2 lbs (75th percentile)
height - 39 in (90th percentile)
Consensus: She is tall! and even though she is a very picky eater, she's putting on weight.

Owen:
weight - 30 lbs 11 oz (off the charts)
height - 31.5 in (92nd percentile)
head circumference - 19.5 in (off the charts)
Consensus: Owen is a monster with a huge noggin'

We decided to give that noggin' of his a haircut.




He got 4 shots today and he's cutting 2 teeth. Not a good day for either of us!
