Party at the Pool

I realized I haven't updated in a while and it's because I haven't been taking any pictures. So here we go!
We bought pool passes this summer. This is the first time we've really taken advantage of the pools since we moved to Texas. The kids have a blast so it's been nice going in the mornings then coming home and taking looong naps. Happy mama, Happy kids. Good times :)

Mike went to check on Abby and saw that she had put her "baby" to bed. Don't you like her make-shift crib? I thought it was funny that she crammed her doll in that tiny box :)

Check ups and a haircut

I took the kids to the doctor today for their 1 & 3 yr check ups. Here are the stats...
Abby:
weight - 33.2 lbs (75th percentile)
height - 39 in (90th percentile)
Consensus: She is tall! and even though she is a very picky eater, she's putting on weight.

Owen:
weight - 30 lbs 11 oz (off the charts)
height - 31.5 in (92nd percentile)
head circumference - 19.5 in (off the charts)
Consensus: Owen is a monster with a huge noggin'

We decided to give that noggin' of his a haircut.




He got 4 shots today and he's cutting 2 teeth. Not a good day for either of us!

I realized the Snow White doll was too tall so I put a cooling rack underneath the cake and stuck her completely down so she's really standing on the table. The tablecloth covered my sneaky trick :)

G & G Thayer come to visit!

Grandpa & Grandma Thayer came down last weekend for our nephew Marcus' baptism. It was a short visit, but it was fun to have them here!

We went on a boat ride down The Woodlands Waterway. Afterwards we ate an incredible meal at the Cheesecake Factory. Can I please eat avocado rolls and chocolate Godiva cheesecake everyday for the rest of my life?

Today is Grandpa Doug's 81st birthday. Happy Birthday Grampa, as Abby would say :)

Some fun facts about Owen....
He is Mr. speed crawler! We thought he'd be walking by now since he started crawling around 6 1/2 months. No siree, he is totally content on all fours.
If you leave the bathroom door open he somehow knows and before you know it he's splashing around in the toilet water.
He loves to feed himself. No baby food for him! He loves pancakes, cheese, turkey, chicken nuggets, grapes, strawberries, and mac n'cheese.
He loves Abby except when she's a little rough with him, then he doesn't like her so much.
He loves little cars
He loves me to sing him "popcorn popping", 3 little monkeys, and itsy bitsy spider.
He has four teeth
He has alot of hair! Abby was pretty much bald until she was two so we're not sure where he gets his nice thick hair (Mike and I sure don't have thick hair!)
He loves to climb on Abby's bed, and into her little doll crib, and in the cupboards under the entertainment center (Abby calls them her little house).
Sometimes he says "mama" and "dada", but I'm not sure if it's on purpose yet or if he's just making those sounds.
I'm guessing he weighs around 30 pounds. In the pictures he is wearing a 2T top and 3T shorts.
We don't call him our Big O for nothin'!

Owen is 1!

More pictures to come, but just wanted to get the highly anticipated cake eating video up for all to see. He didn't belly flop onto the cake like Mike had hoped but he got into it. Fast forward to about 2:30 to see him start pounding down some big ole hunks of cake. We love our Owen boy!
